A healthy approach to your fitness As Kevin will possibly never cease telling you: a fit body is not necessarily a healthy body - but a healthy body will always be fit. Your personal training programme is therefore about much more than trying to burn as many calories as possible or simply lift the heaviest weights. Your initial conversation will help Kevin establish what your goals are and what is motivating you to achieve them. He has dealt with clients whose needs range widely - from the desires for a smaller waist or stronger shoulders right through to improving fitness levels to maximise sporting performance or meet challenges such as climbing Kilimanjaro. The only onus on you, therefore, is to be honest about your own needs. In your first session, Kevin will also take some time to assess your existing abilities, strengths and weaknesses. This will make sure he identifies any issues such as muscle imbalances or tensions and deals with them early - so they do not hinder your progress or worse, cause injury later on. It is then Kevin's job to set about developing a training and monitoring programme which will help you build a solid core of strength and fitness, allowing you to challenge yourself and push your goals - whilst also providing many positive consequences for your long term wellbeing. |
